Lemon Butter Sauce (from Carraba's copycat Chicken Bryan)

Ingredients

  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 1/3 c Dry white wine
  • Fresh basil, chopped

Steps

  1. Melt 1 tbsp of butter in a pan on the stovetop.
  2. Add onion and cook until onion is translucent.
  3. Add white wine and 1/4 c lemon juice. Bring to a boil and cook until liquid is reduced to about 1/2 c.
  4. Reduce heat to low and add basil. Add butter a few tbsp at a time, allowing the butter to melt and whisking to incorporate before adding more, until 12 tbsp have been added total (a stick and a half)..
  5. Season sauce with salt and pepper and remove from heat. Set to the side to use later, if sauce starts to solidify before you use it simply reheat over medium low heat.
